Multi-Channel Retail Solutions
IVIS Group consultants worked with a gardening products vendor to develop a multi-channel retail solution allowing customers to buy online, via telephone, off-the-page and through 3rd party channels. The key challenges were allowing the retailer to act as a conduit for sales via other channels, including digital TV, and to promote products where 3rd party suppliers controlled stock availability and other information. The solution offered a highly flexible architecture while enabling close coupling of the business processes for purchasing, sales, call centre and shipment.
The resultant system fully supported the various sales models whilst offering excellent visibility of sales trends and stock levels. The system supported the cancellation of orders up to the point of picking for despatch and the return or replacement of goods through the integration of call centre systems with the fulfilment process.
