IVIS Group joins Oasis and W3C

5 March 2001 - IVIS Group is pleased to announce that Ivis has joined Oasis as a full sponsor and has become an Affiliate member of the W3C. Qusai Sarraf is involved with the committee that is investigating an XML Query Language. Qusai is renowned expert on XML speaking and teaching about XML throughout the world.

Qusai Sarraf CEO, Founder IVIS Group was quoted as saying "IVIS Group are committed to open standards and to XML. Hence, joining OASIS and the W3C is a logical step in building the company as a world leader of a provider of business solutions using XML. We have achieved great deal using the XML technology since the launch of our first application back in October 1999. While we are focused and dedicated to the use of XML, we recognised that the most powerful thing about XML is also its highest risk. Extensibility without standards leads to fragmentation and all the objectives sought after by XML are in danger of being undone. At the time, standards were not available yet and hence part of the architecture was based on a bespoke XML dialect. We value the importance of the achievements of OASIS and W3C in brining order and standards to the way business is conducted. We now look forward to bring our applications and work in line with the industry standards. Hence, it gives me great pleasure to submit our application to OASIS W3C and play an active role in shaping and preserving the standards."
