Consultant Developer

I joined IVIS Group 3 years ago and the company has doubled in size since then, but there is still a great family atmosphere in the office. I work as a Consultant Developer, both in the office and on-site at one of our major clients.

The way IVIS Group work meant that I was quickly introduced to and subsequently became competent in a wide range of skills and technologies. I have been involved in a multitude of major projects to create a highly scalable architecture for one of our largest clients. IVIS Group have helped establish our client as a world leader, both in terms of revenue and the technology used, and I'm proud to be part of that effort.

Personally, I've gained a considerable number of technical skills since joining, from database skills, through COM+ and nowadays C#/.NET in the middle tier to ASP.NET and XSL at the front-end. I've also become experienced in software architecture, modeling and design using UML and Patterns. Furthermore, I've been lucky enough to attend international software development conferences and external courses.

The main reason I enjoy working at IVIS Group is the multi-national workforce. It feels like a mini-United Nations and is extremely interesting and exciting to work with people from all over the world. Hopefully one day we'll be based in IVIS Group branches around the world!

Senior Consultant

I joined IVIS Group just under 2 ½ years ago. From the start I was given many opportunities and had a major role in developing important features for a major customer. Since then I have been able to prepare and deliver a number of training courses, work with a major customer to redesign and migrate their system to .NET and help create a drive towards accessibility and standards compliant web sites. My role therefore varies from middle tier developer/consultant, to web developer, and trainer.

My main effort at the moment is to help redesign a major part of a site for a large customer to make it much more standards compliant, while helping the business reduce its bandwidth and maintenance costs, while at the same time helping customers received a better experience through better downloads. This is a good challenge because it is about completely changing the way web pages are developed to use more modern and standards-oriented techniques. Web Standards and using them to achieve web site accessibility has become an interest of mine lately and IVIS Group has provided opportunities and support for me to explore this area.

What I like about IVIS Group is that with a diverse and dynamic staff, there are lots of skills and experiences to learn and grow from. At the same time, the company helps give me opportunities in areas that interest me.

Business Development Manager

I have enjoyed creating new relationships with customers and partners.

There have been many highlights during my time at IVIS Group but one that comes to mind is the time when I was in Paris with our CEO to receive an award for the 'Best use of Internet Technologies' from Microsoft for IVIS Group's work with Tesco.

The vision and opportunity that was painted at the time of joining continues to be real as each week goes on and I am extremely confident that IVIS Group will continue to grow and achieve major success. Being part of the team where my contribution directly contributes to growth of IVIS Group is very exciting and highly rewarding.

Consultant Developer

I have been working for IVIS Group since September 2000. I have had several training courses to improve my skills in various areas. IVIS Group has always appreciated my work and has encouraged me right from the day I started. I am part of product development team, my role is really challenging and I am enjoying what I do. The work environment is excellent and working hours are flexible which is great.

The company has grown almost three times over since I joined and I am proud to be a part of this successful organization.

Technical Architect

In my first six months for the Consultancy division I worked on a great variety of proposals, analysis tasks, designs, performance and architectural reviews and even product development.

After this I got the chance to help design and redevelop a major customer's on-line store. We started with a complete overhaul of the user interface to make the shopping experience as intuitive as possible. Following this we looked at the technology used and chose to pursue our client's strategic decision to use Microsoft .NET for both the user interface and middle-tier code. Finally, this development was coupled with a major overhaul of the database. All of this gave me plenty of scope to explore how to develop an architecture that would give the best performance now with scope for future extension and re-use.

I have enjoyed my first year at IVIS Group and look forward to continuing to help our partners make data make sense.
